Ideal Fabrics for Islamic School Uniforms

People following Islam need to follow certain rules and regulations while getting dressed. This reflects in their dressing right from an early age. It is important for the Islamic school uniforms to be simple and of thick fabric. Islamic children cannot wear clothes that are see-through because the skin of the body should not be visible to anyone. Thus, it is very important for the school uniform to be made of thick material. Generally, girls wear 2 Piece Al-Amira Hijab, collar blouse and boys wear boys set and uniform cotton pants. Here are a few ideal fabrics of which the Islamic school uniforms should be made:

Cotton: This is the most commonly used material for school shirts. The fabric is extremely comfortable to wear and excellent for summers. The fabric is thick yet easily washable. Kids stay comfortable in shirts made of cotton material. This light and soft material is one of the ideal choices for a school uniform.

Corduroy: The word corduroy means ‘cloth of the King’ and is considered as a royal fabric. This material is a comfortable yet thick material and is low on budget. Pants made of this material are extremely comfortable to wear. It is important for kids to stay comfortable throughout the day, thus, this fabric is also one of the highly preferred materials.

Denim: Not many schools use uniforms made of denim because this generally gives a casual look. However, when we talk about Islamic uniforms, this can be one of the fabrics that can be used. The material is highly durable and thick, hence, the skin of the body is not at all visible.

Flannel: The word flannel originated from the word ‘gwalnen’ which means a woolen cloth. Resembling a twill, this fabric is ideal for uniforms for children living in colder regions. The outer layer of the fabric is soft while the interior is warm and comfortable. Some of the clothing options that can be stitched from this fabric include jackets, blazers and trousers.

A Quick Guide on the Types and the Use of Hijab Caps

A Hijab cap is also known to many people by the name of under Hijab, bone cap, turban, under scarf, headband, banadana or a bonnet cap, but they all serve the same purpose- keep the Hijab in place. It is important for Islamic women to keep their head covered at all times. To cover their head, they use a Hijab, but often women face difficulty in keeping the Hijab in place. Hijabs tend to slip off easily as they are made of thin and slippery material and this generally causes discomfort to the woman wearing it. This is when they can use Hijab caps. This cap provides extra support to the head covering and keeps it in place. These caps are available in various sizes and colors and are also used to create a contrast between the cap and the scarf.

These caps hold the entire hair backward and fit to the skull. This keeps the Hijab in place and allows the wearer to move freely. Also, wearing a Hijab cap is not much of a hassle. All you need to do is just pull it over your head and then tie a Hijab over it. There is an availability of a huge variety of underscarves, let us have a look at a few:
  • Lace Underscarf: This underscarf is made up of lace which is stretchable and non-slippery. It looks beautiful when worn under a Hijab and adds a grace to the Hijab. The lace underscarf that you wear, can be of the same color as that of the Hijab or you can also opt for a contrasting color.
  • Tie Back Underscarf: This is one of the most popular caps among the Islamic women. Commonly made of cotton, this cap is absolutely non-slippery. It can be worn simply by placing it over the head and then knotting it at the back of the head.
  • Bonnet Underscarf: This cap made of stretchable material, preferably, polyester or Lycra, is a new addition to the caps. These caps can be worn very easily as you just need to slip them on the head. You can choose from the wide range of colors and sizes available in the market.
  • Full Underscarf: Full underscarves can be worn with Hijabs that are made of sheer material. This underscarf covers the neck are along with the head and keeps the woman covered entirely.

With the help of the above mentioned Hijab caps, women can easily wear Hijab made of any material as the caps keep the Hijabs in place.

Since you will be putting in a good amount of money, make sure you choose a coat or a jacket that is durable and of good quality. By doing use, you can make the best use of your coat or jacket.
  • Check the Fabric: The material or fabric of the coat or jacket that you plan to buy is the first thing that should be checked. Materials like good quality wool, cashmere, blend of alpaca wool etc. can keep you warm. It is good to look stylish but at the same time make sure that you cover yourself well and keep yourself warm.
  • Check the Finishing: A jacket or a coat might be of superior quality and might be of an attractive color and design, but if it has an untidy finishing, it loses its beauty. Check for loose buttons, uncut threads, broken zips, unfinished seams and linings before you buy a coat or a jacket.
  • Keep Your Budget in Mind: Coats and jackets of various qualities are available in the market. The price of each piece ranges depending on the material used, the amount of work done on it, quality of accessories used in it and so on. You can choose a jacket or a coat that is low priced or can either opt for a high priced piece. Make sure that you set your budget prior shopping and make a purchase within the set budget.
  • Choose an Evergreen Design: One should act wise while buying a coat or a jacket. Since jackets and coats are used only in one season, stored and then again used in the next season, it is a wise option to choose an evergreen design. By doing this you will never be out of fashion and you will look stylish no matter whenever you wear your jacket or coat.
